Guard Your Heart
Scripture
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you crooked speech, and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.” Proverbs 4:23-27 ESV
Prayer
Holy God, powerful and mighty, we come before You with gratitude and praise. Your ways are higher than ours, and Your thoughts beyond what we can fully understand—yet You invite us to draw near.
Lord, help us to guard our hearts with care, knowing that from it flows the very course of our lives. When we are tempted toward careless or crooked speech, gently redirect us. Shape in us a quiet and gentle spirit. Teach us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Give us wisdom in our interactions—discerning, yet kind; truthful, yet gracious.
Keep our eyes fixed on You, not on the distractions and noise around us. Help us to walk with intention, choosing words and actions that reflect Your heart. Make our steps steady and our paths sure as we follow You.
Thank You for Your patience, Your kindness, and the gift of Your Spirit guiding us in truth.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
