Our Stronghold

Scripture

“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.” Psalm 9:9-10 ESV

Prayer

Lord, You are our stronghold, our fortress, and our hiding place. We run to You and find safety, peace, and rest. Help our first response in every circumstance to be turning to You rather than relying on our own understanding.

When our minds begin to wander and our thoughts drift from what is true, gently draw us back to Yourself. Teach us to fix our eyes on You and to set our minds on Your truth rather than on our fears, circumstances, or what we see around us.

Father, protect and sustain those we love. Strengthen those who are weary, comfort those who are hurting, and remind each of us that You never forsake those who seek You. Help us to trust Your heart even when we do not understand Your ways.

May praise continually be found on our lips as we remember Your faithfulness and goodness. Thank You for being our ever-present help in times of trouble and for walking with us through every season. We place our trust in You today.

In Jesus' name, amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What truth from God's Word do I need to focus on today instead of dwelling on my circumstances?

  2. When challenges arise, is my first response to turn to God, or do I try to handle things on my own?
