Our Refuge and Our Strength
Scripture
“Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.’” Psalm 16:1-2 ESV
Prayer
Lord, You alone are our refuge. You are our shelter in the storm, our hiding place in times of trouble, and the firm foundation on which we stand. Every good thing we have comes from You, and apart from You we have no lasting hope or strength.
Father, we are often quick to become distracted and forget Your presence as we go about our days. Keep our hearts mindful of You, for we need You every moment. Teach us to rely on You more fully and to trust You more completely.
Remind us of Your goodness and help us fix our eyes on who You are rather than on what we see around us. Because You are faithful, we can walk in confidence and not in fear. Fill us with Your peace, grant us wisdom for each day, and give us thankful hearts that wait patiently on You.
May praise be on our lips throughout the day as we remember Your unending love, mercy, and grace. Thank You for being our refuge, our provider, and our faithful God.
In Jesus' holy name, amen.
