Victorious
Today’s Focus
Living in the victory and new life we have in Christ.
Scripture
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the peoples; but the Lord will arise upon you, and his glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:1-2 ESV
Prayer
Lord, you have risen! The grave could not hold you. You have defeated sin and death, and we are no longer bound to it. Praise you, Jesus! Today we rejoice in the truth that you are alive, and because you live, we have real and lasting hope.
Thank you for suffering for us. Thank you for the hope you freely gave through your sacrifice and your resurrection. What looked like defeat was actually victory, and because you rose, our future is secure in you.
Help us to not forsake that hope—give us the strength to hold to it. Let us not lose sight of the fact that this world and the things of it are temporary; help us to focus on what is eternal. Fix our eyes on you and let the reality of the empty tomb shape the way we live and love.
Let us make the most of every opportunity to proclaim your truth. Fill our minds with your Word, and let it richly dwell in us. Continue to provide for and protect your people, Lord. Help us to be your hands and feet wherever we are.
Strengthen our weak hands and make firm our feeble knees. (Is 36:3) Help us to not walk in fear, but in your power and might—the same power that raised you from the dead, now at work within us!
In your victorious name we pray, amen.
