Called to Love & Serve
Scripture
“The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” I Peter 4:7-11
Prayer
Father, thank You for entrusting each of us with opportunities to love and serve others. Help us to live each day with purpose, keeping our hearts focused on You. Give us wisdom to recognize what truly matters and the discipline to set aside distractions that keep us from growing closer to You. May our relationship with You be the foundation for everything we say and do.
Lord, teach us to love others deeply, with a love that reflects the grace You have shown us. Give us hearts that are quick to forgive, eager to extend kindness, and willing to offer hospitality with joy rather than out of a sense of obligation. Remove any complaining or selfishness in us and replace it with genuine gratitude for every opportunity to welcome and care for those You place in our lives.
Father, remind us that every ability, gift, and opportunity we have comes from You. Help us to use what You have entrusted to us faithfully and humbly, never seeking recognition for ourselves but always pointing others to You. Whether we are speaking words of encouragement or serving behind the scenes, may we do so with the strength, wisdom, and grace that You alone provide. Let others see Christ in us as we faithfully use the gifts You have given us to build up those around us. May You receive all the honor, the glory, and the praise, now and forever. In Jesus' name, amen.
