Anchored in Hope

Scripture

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit…”  I Peter 3:13-18

Prayer

Father, thank You for reminding us that our lives are safely in Your hands. Help us to pursue what is good, even when it isn't easy or appreciated. When we face opposition, criticism, or misunderstanding because of our faith, keep our hearts anchored in You. Replace any fear we have with the confidence that You are always with us and faithfully working through every circumstance.

Help us to set Christ apart as Lord in our hearts each day. Fill us with a deep and abiding hope that naturally overflows into the way we live. Give us the wisdom and courage to share the reason for our hope whenever the opportunity arises—and help us always to speak with gentleness, humility, and respect when doing so. May our words reflect the love and grace we have received from You.

Thank You that Jesus willingly suffered for our sins so that we can have peace with You and the promise of eternal life. Help us keep our eyes fixed on Christ, remembering that no trial, hardship, or disappointment is ever wasted in Your hands. Strengthen our faith, deepen our trust, and use our lives to point others to the hope that is found only in You.

May we leave behind a legacy of faithfulness—not because this life was easy, but because we chose to trust You through every season. Let our hope remain steadfast, our hearts remain tender - even in hurtful situations - and let our lives continually reflect the goodness of our Savior. In Jesus' name, amen.
