Prayer
Father, we praise You because You are sovereign, faithful, and trustworthy. You see what we cannot see, know what we cannot know, and understand the whole path when we can only see the next step. Thank You that our lives are not dependent on our ability to figure everything out. We can make plans and dream about what is ahead, but ultimately our steps are held in Your hands.
Help us commit our work, our plans, and our desires to You. Give us wisdom to plan faithfully and courage to move forward when You open a door, but also give us humility to recognize when You are redirecting us. Keep us from becoming so attached to our own plans that we resist Your leading. Teach us to hold our plans with open hands and trust that Your way is better, even when we don't understand it.
In our relationships, help us extend that same grace to others. Keep us from expecting everyone else's path to look like ours or assuming we know what is best for someone else. Give us patience when the people we love make choices we don't understand. Help us encourage rather than control, pray rather than pressure, and trust You to work in their lives just as You are working in ours.
Lord, establish our steps today. When our plans succeed, keep us humble and grateful. When they change, keep us from fear and frustration. When the path ahead is unclear, remind us that uncertainty does not mean You are absent. We commit our work, our plans, and our future to You, trusting that wherever You lead, You will be faithful to guide us. In Jesus’ name - Amen.
Questions for Reflection
Am I asking God to bless my plans, or am I genuinely willing to follow His?
Where might I be trying to control another person's path instead of trusting God with them?
