Quick to Forgive

Scripture

“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:31–32

Prayer

Lord, we praise You for Your forgiveness. Thank You that You do not treat us as our sins deserve, and that Your mercy and compassion never fail.

Because You have forgiven us so fully, teach us to reflect that same grace to others. Help us to put away bitterness, anger, and anything that takes root in our hearts and pulls us away from You.

Guard our hearts, Lord. When we are tempted to react in frustration or offense, help kindness to be our first response. Make us tenderhearted—quick to extend grace, slow to take offense, and willing to forgive.

We cannot do this in our own strength. Fill us with Your Spirit and guide us in every interaction today. Give us wisdom in our words, gentleness in our responses, and a posture that reflects Your love.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. How can I choose kindness, tenderness, and forgiveness in my interactions today?

  2. Where might my heart be hard or easily offended right now?
