Refined by Fire
Scripture
“And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call upon my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are my people’; and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’” Zechariah 13:9 ESV
Prayer
Lord, thank you for calling us your children. Thank you for making a way for that to happen through the obedient, perfect life of Jesus. Help us to call upon your name in our trials and when things are calm. Help us to trust that you hold both in your hands, and help us to rest knowing that you indeed are sovereign.
Even in the refining seasons of life, remind us that you are at work shaping us, strengthening our faith, and drawing us closer to you. Help us to continually seek your face and to desire you more than anything else. Keep us from discouragement and steady us when the trials of this life try to knock us down. Strengthen our weary hands and minds. Renew us as we wait in your presence today.
