Resting in God’s Grace
Scripture
“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen” I Peter 5:6-9
Prayer
Father, teach us to walk in humility, trusting that Your timing and Your plans are always good. When we are tempted to carry burdens You never intended for us to bear, remind us that You lovingly invite us to cast every care, every worry, and every fear upon You because You care for us. Help us release what is weighing us down and rest in the peace that comes from knowing we are safely held in Your hands.
Lord, keep us alert and grounded in Your truth. When the enemy seeks to discourage us, distract us, or cause us to doubt Your goodness, strengthen our faith and help us stand firm in Your promises. Remind us that we are never alone in our struggles and that You are faithfully at work, even when we cannot see Your hand.
Thank You for being the God of all grace. Even in seasons of hardship, You are constantly working in a million ways we can’t see. You are restoring, strengthening, confirming, and establishing us according to Your perfect will. Help us to keep our eyes fixed on You, confident that our trials are temporary, but Your faithfulness is eternal. May our lives reflect an unwavering trust in You, giving You all the glory and praise forever. In Jesus' name, amen.
