Rooted in His Word
Scripture
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalm 1:1-3 (ESV)
Prayer
Father, we come before You today with grateful hearts. Thank You for Your Word that guides us, strengthens us, and reminds us of the life You desire for us. We praise You because You are faithful, and Your wisdom never leads us astray.
Lord, help us to be careful about the voices we listen to and the influences we allow into our lives. Give us discernment to recognize what is true. Grant us the courage to walk in Your ways, even when the world offers an easier path. Keep our hearts from growing cold and our minds fixed on You.
Create in us a genuine delight for Your Word. May reading it never become just another thing to check off our To-Do list. Instead, let it be a time we look forward to because it draws us closer to You. A time that we can’t live without! Help us to meditate on Your truth throughout the day, allowing it to shape our thoughts, our decisions, our attitudes, and our actions.
Lord, make us like trees planted beside streams of living water—firmly rooted in You. When the storms of life come, help us to remain steady because our strength comes from You. Feed our souls so that we bear fruit in every season, even in seasons that feel difficult or uncertain. When we grow weary, remind us that You are our source of life, and You will sustain us.
May our lives reflect Your goodness in a way that points others to You. Help us to trust that as we remain rooted in Christ and faithful to Your Word, You will accomplish Your purposes in and through us. Thank You for the promise that You are always with us, faithfully growing us one day at a time. In Jesus' name, Amen.
