Tranquil Hearts
Scripture
“A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.” — Proverbs 14:30 (ESV)
Prayer
Father, we praise You because You are our peace. You are never anxious or uncertain, and nothing is outside Your knowledge or Your care. Thank You that we do not have to carry the weight of knowing how everything will unfold. You invite us to trust You. In Your presence, we can find a peace that is not dependent on our circumstances. Settle us in Your presence and remind us we are secure in Your care.
Help us walk in the tranquility only You truly offer. Guard our hearts from envy, comparison, jealousy, and resentment—those subtle things that can take root before we even realize they are there. When we find ourselves looking at what someone else has, where someone else is going, or what someone else seems to be experiencing, turn our attention back to You. Teach us to be grateful for what You have given us, rather than consumed by what You have given someone else.
Help us reflect that same peace in our relationships. Keep us from allowing comparison to affect the way we see or respond to others. Give us genuine joy when others are blessed, humility when someone else succeeds, and contentment with the path You have given each of us. May we be people who celebrate others freely rather than quietly competing with them.
Lord, cultivate tranquil hearts within us. Search us. Where envy has taken root, replace it with gratitude. Where comparison has stolen our peace, restore our perspective. Where resentment has begun to grow, help us release it to You. May the condition of our hearts bring life—not only to us, but to the people around us—and may our peace ultimately point back to the One who gives it. In Jesus’ name - Amen.

Can I genuinely celebrate someone else's blessings without comparing them to my own life?
