A Life Built on Wisdom
Scripture
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.” — Proverbs 9:10–11 (ESV)

Prayer
Father, teach us what it means to truly fear You. Not to live in terror of You that paralyzes us, but to hold You in the reverence, honor, and awe You deserve. In a world that encourages us to trust ourselves and follow our own desires, remind us that You are God and we are not. Give us the humility to approach You through that lens.
Help us understand that wisdom begins with knowing You. We can gather information, gain experience, and make decisions based on what we think is best, but none of these things can replace the perspective that comes from knowing You. Open our hearts to know You more deeply—not simply to know about You, but to recognize Your character and trust Your ways. Allow that knowledge to shape how we live.
When our understanding is limited, keep us from assuming we have all the answers. When we are uncertain, teach us to seek You. When our plans seem clear, remind us to remain dependent on You. May reverence for You influence our choices, our relationships, our priorities, and even the way we respond when life doesn't unfold as we expected.
Lord, help us live with the kind of wisdom that comes from walking closely with You. May our days be marked not simply by length, but by purpose. And as You give us more days, may we use them well—growing in wisdom, knowing You more deeply, and becoming more like You. In Jesus’ name - Amen.

What does it look like for me to genuinely reverence God in the way I live, not just in what I believe?
