A Living Hope
Scripture
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
Prayer
Lord, we come to You today with hearts full of praise and gratitude for who You are. We stand in awe of Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your endless mercy toward us. Thank You for loving us even when we were undeserving. We could never earn Your grace or become worthy of it on our own, yet because of Jesus' sacrifice and the new life we have in Him, we have been given a living hope!
Help us never to take that incredible sacrifice for granted. Instead, let it be the motivation that shapes the way we live each day. As we remember the price Jesus paid for our salvation, transform our hearts to become more and more like Him. When distractions, disappointments, or the frustrations of everyday life threaten to steal our joy, remind us to fix our eyes on You and the eternal hope we have in Christ.
Thank You that our hope is alive. It is not fragile, temporary, or dependent on our circumstances. It is anchored in the risen Savior. Because of that, we don't have to hold it tightly for ourselves or ration it out sparingly. You have freely given us hope, and we have the privilege of freely sharing it with others.
Our world is desperate for hope. Help us to be people who carry Your hope wherever we go. Make us agents of Your mercy and grace. May our words bring encouragement, our actions reflect Your love, and our lives point others to Jesus. Teach us to be kind, patient, compassionate, peaceful, and grateful in every circumstance so that others may see You in us.
Thank You for the living hope that can never be taken away. May we walk confidently in it today and faithfully share it with those You place in our path. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Questions for Reflection
What "trivial things" have been stealing my joy or distracting me from the hope I have in Christ?
God, please show me one person who needs encouragement this week. How can I be an "agent of hope" to them?
