Faith Refined

Scripture

“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” I Peter 1:6-7

Prayer

Heavenly Father - We praise You today because You are faithful in every season. You never leave us, never abandon us, and never waste the trials we face. Even when our hearts are heavy, You remain our steady hope.

Lord, You know the burdens we carry. Some are visible, while others are known only to You. Thank You that Your Word never asks us to pretend our pain isn't real. Instead, You remind us that even in seasons of grief, we can rejoice because our hope is anchored in You and not in our circumstances.

Father, when our faith is tested, help us to trust that You are refining us rather than forsaking us. Just as gold is purified through fire, use every trial to remove what doesn't belong and to strengthen what is genuine. Grow in us a faith that is steadfast, sincere, and rooted deeply in Your promises. May our lives reflect Your goodness in a way that brings You praise, glory, and honor.

Remind us that these trials are only for a little while, but the inheritance You have prepared for us is eternal. Lift our eyes beyond today's struggles to the joy that awaits us when we see You face to face. Until that day, give us the grace to persevere, the courage to keep trusting, and the peace that comes from knowing You are working all things together for our good and for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What trial is God asking me to trust Him with today instead of trying to carry on my own?

  2. How might God be refining my faith through this season, even if I can't yet see the purpose?

Grace & peace to you today - Michelle
