Because of His Mercy
Scripture
“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” — Psalm 40:1–3
Prayer
Father, You are the everlasting God, our eternal Father. You have always been and always will be. Before time began, You were faithful, holy, and good. Even before we were aware of our need for You, You made a way for us to come to You through Your mercy and grace.
Help us not to forget how our story began—it has always been because of YOUR mercy. YOU loved us before we even knew you. When we were lost in our sin and helpless to save ourselves, You reached down and rescued us. You pulled us from the pit and brought us into Your kingdom of light. You did not abandon us in our brokenness, but loved us with compassion and kindness. Thank You for redeeming our lives and giving us a firm place to stand in You.
As we grow in our walk with You, give us hearts that remain humble, grateful, and dependent on Your grace. Protect us from pride and from the temptation to become self-righteous or forgetful of how deeply we need You each day. Let our lives reflect the kindness, mercy, and love You have shown to us.
Thank You for giving us Your Word to guide and strengthen us. Root us deeply in Your Truth and continue transforming us day by day into the image of Christ. Teach us to trust You fully, praise You continually, and walk faithfully wherever You lead. In Jesus’ name - Amen.
