Faithful in the In-Between

Scripture

“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Psalms 61:1-2 NKJV

Prayer

Father, You are our peace. You are faithful, even when we waver. You are gracious when we struggle, again and again. You remain steady when we feel tossed to and fro by the circumstances of life.

Develop in us the habit of automatically turning to You in ALL things — when we are struggling, when things are going well, and even in the ordinary in-between moments. Help us not to grow weary in doing good, because You have promised that in due time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)

Strengthen our weak hands and make firm our feeble knees. (Isaiah 35:3) And just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ arms when he was too weak to keep going, help us to be that same source of encouragement and support in the lives of others. Give us the humility to also allow others to strengthen and encourage us when we are weary.

We love You, Lord, and we are so thankful for the precious promises You have given us through Your Word.

In the strong name of Jesus, amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. When challenges arise, is my first response to turn toward God or rely on my own strength?

  2. Who in my life may need encouragement and support right now — and am I humble enough to receive support when I need it too?
