Choosing Gratitude

Scripture

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!  Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!  Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!  Give thanks to him; bless his name!  For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.” Psalm 100:1-5

Prayer

Lord, today I choose joy because You are worthy of it. Whether my heart feels light or heavy, I want to come before You with gladness and worship You with a heart that remembers who You are and Your faithfulness to me all of my life. Thank You for inviting me into Your presence—not because I've earned it, but because You have made me Your own.

Thank You for being my faithful Shepherd. You have guided me, provided for me, corrected me, and never once abandoned me. Even when I haven't seen Your hand or questioned if You hear my prayers, You have been caring for me every step of the way.

Today, I enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise! I choose to bless Your name because You are good. Your steadfast love never runs out, and Your faithfulness reaches from one generation to the next. Thank You for never changing and for always being worthy of my praise. Amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What is one specific way I’ve seen God's goodness and faithfulness this week?

  2. How can I intentionally enter this weekend with a heart of thanksgiving instead of carrying the weight of the week?
