Let Love Lead
Scripture
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal...Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant…Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” I Corinthians 13:1,4,7
Prayer
Father, help us remember that we can do all the right things and still miss what matters most if we don't have love. We can serve, speak, give, and even sacrifice, but if love isn't behind it, it doesn't mean what we think it does, and it most certainly doesn’t bring glory to You. Keep our hearts focused on loving You and loving people; keep us from getting caught up in just going through the motions.
Give us patience when people frustrate us. Help us to be kind when it would be easier to be critical. Keep us from being easily offended or keeping score when someone has hurt us. We know love isn't always easy, but You have called us to love anyway. Give us the strength to walk that out.
Help us love people the way You have loved us—with patience, grace, and a willingness to keep showing up. Let love shape our words, our choices, and the way we treat the people You have placed in our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
