Hope That is Certain
Scripture
“But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep…For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” I Corinthians 15:20, 25 & 26
Prayer
Lord, thank You that Christ has been raised from the dead. Because Jesus lives, we have hope that death is not the end. Thank You for this steadfast promise that what You began through Christ will one day be fully accomplished.
Father, help us remember that Jesus is reigning even when the world around us feels chaotic and uncertain. Nothing is outside of Your authority. You are bringing all things under Christ’s rule, and there will come a day when every enemy is defeated, even death itself. Help us trust You while we wait for that day.
Lord, when we are discouraged by what we see around us, remind us of what IS true. Give us confidence in Your promises and help us live with the hope of what is still to come. May the reality of Christ’s resurrection change the way we face each day, knowing that You are sovereign, Jesus is victorious, and death will not have the final word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Questions for Reflection
What difference does the resurrection of Jesus make in the way I face the challenges of today?
Where am I tempted to focus more on what I see happening around me than on what I know God has promised?
