Preparing the Way
Scripture
“A voice cries: ‘In the wilderness prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’” Isaiah 40:3-5
Prayer
O Lord, You are mighty. You are the Way Maker. When we were dead in our sins and without hope, You made a way for us through Your Son, Jesus. Your love for us is deeper than we could ever comprehend, and today we come before You with grateful hearts.
Father, in times of uncertainty, we thank You that we are never without what we truly need. Even when the world around us feels unstable and the days ahead seem unclear, You remain constant. Your promises do not change.
Strengthen us, Lord, for the days before us. Provide for us in every way — physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When we feel weary or unsure, remind us that Your ways are higher than our ways and that You are always at work, even in places we cannot yet see.
Just as Your Word says that valleys will be lifted and mountains made low, we trust that You are preparing the way. You are able to smooth the rough places in our lives and make a path where there seems to be none. Help us to rest in the confidence that You waste nothing. Even the difficult seasons are not outside of Your purpose.
Remind us daily of Your faithfulness. Shape our hearts to reflect Yours. In a world with so many needs, help us to be Your hands and feet — to carry Your love, compassion, and truth wherever You place us.
Teach us to remain grateful in every season, not because circumstances are always easy, but because You are always good.
We love You, Lord, and we trust You with our lives.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
