The Sovereign King
Scripture
“The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” Proverbs 21:1
Prayer
Lord, You are the King forever. Your Word tells us that the heart of a king is like a stream of water in Your hand, and You turn it wherever You will. Nothing is outside of Your authority or control.
Thank You that our confidence does not rest in earthly leaders or governments, but in You alone. You are trustworthy, You are good, and You are kind. Your purposes are always right, even when we do not fully understand them.
Father, we ask that You would give wisdom to those You have allowed to serve in leadership. Guide their decisions, direct their hearts, and lead them in ways that bring justice, peace, and wisdom for the people they serve.
In times when the world feels uncertain or heavy, remind us that You are still on the throne. Teach us to trust You more deeply and to rest in the truth that You are working in ways we cannot always see.
Shape our hearts to reflect Yours. Help us to walk in humility, to pray faithfully for those in authority, and to place our hope fully in You.
You are the true and eternal King, and we trust You with the affairs of this world and the details of our lives.
Questions for Reflection:
Where do you need to release worry and trust that God is still in control?
How can you intentionally pray for those in authority today?
