Pure Hearts

Scripture

“Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God…” I Peter 1:22-23

Prayer

Thank You for the work You are doing in our hearts. As we choose to walk in obedience to Your truth, continue to purify our motives, our words, and our actions. Strip away anything that keeps us from loving others the way You have loved us. Teach us to love sincerely—not out of obligation, but from hearts that have been transformed by Your grace.

Lord, thank You that You have given us new life through Jesus. We have been born again, not because of anything we have done, but because of Your mercy and through Your living and enduring Word. May we never lose the wonder of that gift. Let Your Word continue to shape our thoughts, strengthen our faith, and guide our steps each day.

When loving others feels difficult, remind us that the same grace You have so freely given to us is the grace You call us to extend to others. Fill us with compassion, patience, and kindness so that our love is genuine, wholehearted, and pleasing to You.

May our lives reflect the new hearts You have given us. Let our words encourage, our actions point others to Christ, and our love become evidence of the transforming power of Your living and enduring Word. In Jesus' name, amen.

 Questions for Reflection

  1. Is there someone God is inviting me to love more sincerely today?

  2. How can I allow God's living and enduring Word to shape my responses and relationships today?
