Set Your Hope
Scripture
“Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’” I Peter 1:13-16 (ESV)
Prayer
Lord, thank You for calling us to a life that is different from the world around us. Thank You for the incredible gift of Your grace and for the hope we have because of Jesus. When our minds become distracted by the worries of today or pulled toward things that don't honor You, gently draw our hearts back to You. Help us to set our hope fully on Christ and to trust that Your plans are always good.
Please prepare our minds for each new day. Give us discernment to recognize the voices that compete for our attention and the wisdom to choose what is true, honorable, and pleasing to You. Strengthen us to walk in obedience, not out of obligation, but out of love for the One who gave everything for us.
Lord, You have called us to be holy because You are holy. We know we cannot accomplish that in our own strength. Thank You for the work of Your Holy Spirit, who patiently transforms us day by day. Continue to shape our thoughts, our words, our attitudes, and our actions so that our lives reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to Your name.
May our hope remain firmly anchored in You, and may our lives reflect Your grace to those around us. Help us to live each day with purpose, confidence, and the joyful assurance that You are faithfully completing the good work You began in us. In Jesus' name, Amen.
