Safe in Him
Scripture
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.” — Proverbs 29:25 (ESV)
Prayer
Father, we praise You because You are our refuge and our safe place. You know us completely and love us without asking us to earn Your approval. Thank You that our identity and worth are not determined by the opinions, expectations, or approval of other people. When the voices around us become loud, remind us that Your voice is the one we ultimately need to hear.
Help us recognize the many ways the fear of others can quietly influence our choices. When we are tempted to say yes because we are afraid of disappointing someone, remain silent because we fear criticism, or change who we are to gain someone's approval, give us courage to trust You instead. Teach us to care about others without letting their opinions direct our lives.
In our relationships, help us love people without being controlled by the need for their approval. Give us wisdom to receive correction without becoming defensive and humility to consider the perspectives of others without losing sight of what You have called us to do. Help us speak truth with grace, set healthy boundaries when needed, and treat others with love even when they don't agree with us.
Lord, loosen the grip of people-pleasing and fear in our lives. When we feel uncertain about how others may respond, remind us that we are secure in You. Help us walk with courage, integrity, and freedom—not because everyone will approve of us, but because we trust the One who holds us. May our decisions be guided by faith rather than fear and by Your truth rather than the need for approval. In Jesus’ name - Amen.

What would I do differently today if I were more concerned with trusting God than being approved by others?
Do I ever change who I am or what I believe simply to avoid criticism or rejection?
