Steadfast
Scripture
“Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” James 5:7-8 ESV
Prayer
Father, You are patient beyond our understanding. You endure with us in all things. You do not grow impatient or lose Your temper with us in our struggles. You are compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in goodness.
Lord, help us to be more like You, especially in these areas. Teach us these qualities and work them out in our lives. Help us to wait upon You. Establish our hearts and make us steady as we trust in You.
Give us eyes that see beyond the surface. In our interactions with others, help us not to be easily offended, but to respond in love. Guard us from being quick to criticize, and instead give us grace to bear with one another.
Lord, we lift up those who are sick and hurting today. Fill them with everything they need and bring healing. Continue to be our protector and provider, and pour out Your blessings on us.
We love You, Lord, and we praise Your name. Thank You that You are in control of all things—remind us of that each day.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
