Steady as We Wait

Scripture

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,” Deuteronomy 7:9 ESV

Prayer

Faithful God, Your steadfast love endures through all generations. You are sovereign, and not for a moment will You ever forsake us.
You are constant and good in all of Your ways.

Thank You for Your endless mercies toward us. Thank you for supplying all of our needs. Thank You that we do not have to strive or work for our salvation, but that You freely gave it to us through the costly sacrifice Jesus made for us.

While we were dead and lost in our sins, You made a way for us to have a relationship with You through Jesus.

We need You Lord, every moment of every day. Please pour out Your peace, comfort, joy, grace, and hope over us. Help us to be gracious with others—and with ourselves—especially during trying times.

Hold those who are hurting extra close today. Allow them to feel Your presence surrounding them. Heal those who are sick. Steady us, Lord, remind us that You are faithful. You are trustworthy.

In Jesus’ name, amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. Where in my life do I need to rest instead of striving, trusting that God has already made a way?

  2. How can I extend the same grace God gives me to someone else—and to myself—today?
