The God Who Names the Stars

Scripture

“He determines the number of the stars; He gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.” Psalm 147:4–5

Prayer

Lord God, thank You that Your understanding and power are without limits. Thank You that the same power You used when You numbered and named the stars You still possess today. You are constant. You are steadfast. You are the omnipotent God.

And yet, You see us. You know every detail of what we are going through, and even more than that, You care about it all. You are loving.

Though our minds can grasp only a small part of who You are, because we do not have Your unlimited understanding, we are thankful. Teach us more and more about Yourself. Help us make the most of our days waiting on You, learning more of Your nature, and pressing into You.

Lord, as we do, please absorb our anxiety about the future and give us Your peace. Help us trust in You — the God who holds it all.

We thank You, Jesus, for the things You’ve done in the past, we thank You for what You are doing right now, and we thank You for what You will do in the future. We wait on You. We trust You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
