The God Who Sees

Scripture

“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book... I praise God for what he has promised; yes, I praise the Lord for what he has promised." Psalm 56:8, 10 (NLT)

Prayer

Father, thank You that You are El Roi, the God who sees. You see our joys, our struggles, and every tear we shed. Your Word tells us that our tears are so precious to You that You collect them in Your bottle and record each one in Your book. Nothing escapes Your notice, and nothing in our lives is hidden from Your loving gaze.

Teach us to keep our eyes fixed on You in every season—in times of abundance and in times of need, in moments of celebration and in seasons of sorrow. Whether we stand on the mountaintop or walk through the valley, help us remember that You are the God of all of it. You remain faithful, sovereign, and good.

Lord, when our hearts are weary and our faith feels weak, remind us of Your promises. Help us to trust that every tear has a purpose and that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory. Fill us with hope as we wait on You, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and faithful to complete the work You have begun in us.

We trust You, Lord. Strengthen us to remember who You are, even when our circumstances tempt us to forget. In Jesus' name, amen.

Questions for Reflection

  1. What burden, sorrow, or unanswered prayer do I need to place into God's hands today, trusting that He sees and cares for me?

  2. How can I choose to praise God for His promises, even in a season where I don't yet see the outcome I am hoping for?
