Held in the Present

Scripture

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. ‘Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.’” Matthew 6:33-34 ESV

Prayer

Lord, You are our provider and our protector—our comfort and our peace. Thank You that even before we finish praying, You hear us. You are already at work, answering in Your perfect way and in Your perfect timing.

You know the desires of our hearts, and You draw near when we call on Your name. You are never distracted. You never forget us or overlook what we bring to You. You understand the deepest parts of who we are, even the things we struggle to put into words. And when we don’t know how to pray, Your Spirit intercedes for us.

Help us today to seek You first—to set our hearts and minds on Your kingdom above everything else. Quiet the anxious thoughts that try to pull us into tomorrow, and gently bring us back to today. Remind us that You are here, in this moment, providing exactly what we need.

Lead us, Father, and help us to reflect Your light in all we do. By Your hand, make us faithful and steady in what You’ve called us to. Be near to our loved ones, and continue Your work in their lives—perfecting all that concerns them.

Thank You for Your constant love and mercy. We trust You with this day.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
